General questions

What is the Prime League?
The Prime League offers a home for all players in German-speaking countries who want to compete with other players on a competitive level. At the start of the split, all teams have the opportunity to be assigned to a league in a two-day calibration phase. The Prime League is divided into a total of eight leagues and three seasons per year.
  • 1st league
  • 2nd league
  • 3rd-8th League
  • Starter League

What is the 1st League?
The best 10 teams in the Prime League compete in the 1st League. The broadcast of the match days takes place every Wednesday and Thursday. Look forward to exciting League of Legends action.

In contrast to the rest of the Prime League, the 1st and 2nd Leagues are played in two splits: There is a spring and a summer split. In the 1st and 2nd Leagues, ten teams play a best-of-one double round robin. The six best teams from the regular season move into the playoffs. The LEC's gauntlet system is used there. The final is held in a spectacular offline event.

What is the 2nd league?
The 2nd league has the same format as the 1st league - with 10 teams and a best-of-one double round robin. There will only be a relegation or promotion opportunity between the 1st league and the 2nd league at the end of the year to give the pro teams more planning security.

How do the 3rd to 8th leagues work?
Each league has several groups with up to eight teams per group. There, the teams play against each other in two-game series over seven match days. At the end of the split, the teams have the opportunity to be promoted or to maintain their place in the league in the playoffs, depending on their placement in the league.

What is the Starter League?
The Starter League is for all teams that are new and do not successfully participate in the calibration phase. It is played in a Swiss format over eight weeks. The teams in the Starter League are ranked depending on their performance in the Starter League in the following season.

Matches against teams of similar skill level are important for the enjoyment of all participants. That's why we try to use the Starter League and the calibration phase to rank teams as quickly as possible in a league that makes sense for them.

Registration & League Registration

When can I register for the Prime League?
It is only possible to register for our league during a certain period of time. Information about this period can be found on our website, so pay close attention so that you don't miss our announcements!

Who can participate in the league?
A team must consist of at least 5 players and is eligible to play if at least 3 of 5 players used in a game are so-called "Locally Trained Representatives" (LTR).

What requirements do I have to meet to register?
You must be registered and logged in on our website and have a verified League of Legends account to play with us. In addition, you must be in a team with at least five (5) members. Only the team leader/team captain can register the team for the upcoming split. At least four (4) other team members must then confirm their participation in the split. You can find a detailed guide to registration here.

I can't connect my League of Legends account.
Once you have registered your LoL account with us, you can only change it yourself outside of a season. During a season, however, you are welcome to contact us via support ticket and we will do our best to help you.

League format

What is the Calibration Phase?
The Calibration Phase takes place towards the end of the registration phase. It is a two-day tournament in the Swiss format that allows teams to be ranked according to their actual skills. The Calibration Phase can only improve your league - a bad result does not mean that you are ranked in a lower league than you have previously achieved through other qualifications.

How do the games work?
Unless you have been assigned to the Starter League, you will play in a group with up to seven other teams. A game schedule is created here at the beginning of the season so that you know exactly which opponent you will play against first. The dates are not set in stone though - use our scheduling system to agree on a suitable date with your opponents within the scheduled two-week period.
If you play with your team in the Starter League, it works a little differently: The Starter League is played in the Swiss format - we cannot therefore create a complete schedule at the start of the season. Instead, you will find out at the start of each week which opponent you will be playing against next. This way you can agree on a date for the match with your opponent by the following Sunday.

What is the Swiss format and how does it work?
The Swiss format is, in short, a group phase in which not everyone plays against everyone. On each match day you play against a different team that has the same (or similar) number of points as your own. You can find a detailed explanation here.

How long does a Prime League season last?
A season (Spring, Summer or Winter Split) lasts for about 3 months.

What happens after the end of the group phase?
Depending on your result, you will be placed in a league that suits your team in the next Prime League split. It may also be that you do not qualify directly for a higher league, but have to prevail against other teams in a playoff phase.

Team restrictions & stand-ins

How many players can play for my team during a season?
You can have a maximum of ten players in your season lineup at any time. You can also add four more players to your team. You can also use so-called stand-ins. Stand-ins are players who are not part of the team but help out for individual games. Note that stand-ins cannot be part of a team in a higher league. Members of the teams in your own group are also not allowed to stand in for you.

How often can I change teams?
You can change teams as a full member a maximum of once during a season. Please note that this is only possible up to the fourth game week.

How many players can join our team during the season?
Up to four players can join your team during a season. It is important that a maximum of ten players can be actively registered in a team at the same time. Keep in mind that you will not be eligible to play until 24 hours after joining a team.

My friends are missing a player at short notice. Can I help out?
In principle, you can play for up to three teams per season. This includes both your own team and playing as a stand-in. You are also not allowed to be part of a team in a higher league or in the same group.

Match schedule & scheduling

When are games played? Are there fixed match days?
There are seven match days in the lower leagues. In the Starter League there are eight match days and each match day must be completed within the respective match week (Tuesday to Sunday). In the 3rd to 8th leagues, a match day in the respective week begins on Monday at midnight and ends on the Sunday after next at 11:59 p.m. There, a match day lasts exactly 14 days. The alternative date is always Sunday at 3 p.m. for the 6th to 8th leagues and the Starters and Sunday at 5 p.m. for the 3rd to 5th leagues. Matches can also be rescheduled - please see our rules.

How can I contact the opposing team?
The easiest, fastest and safest way is to use the comment function on the match page. You are of course allowed to communicate via other platforms, but in the event of a dispute, this may not be taken into account by the administration.

Our opponents are not responding. What can we do?
It is always advantageous to start finding a date very early using the "scheduling tool". If there is no response from your opponent within 48 hours, your suggested date is automatically accepted.

Can we change a date that has already been confirmed?
A date that has already been confirmed can only be changed with the explicit consent of both teams. This means that both teams must agree on a new date. The result must be confirmed by both teams on the match page. Afterwards, at least one of the teams must open a support ticket and inform the administration.

Matches

Who opens the lobby?
The lobby is created by a tournament code that can be requested on the match page. All you have to do is join the lobby via the code and switch to the correct page.

What do I need to consider before the match starts?
Before a match, a leader or captain must specify a lineup for the upcoming match. This must consist of 5 players. A maximum of 2 stand-ins are allowed per match as replacements, which must also be specified in this lineup. After that, all 5 named players must confirm their participation in the match. Only when this has happened can the match be played. If a team does not meet this requirement within the set deadline, it automatically loses the upcoming match.

What can we do if there are problems in the game?
If you have problems with the game, first try to solve them yourself as best you can. This of course means that you know and understand the rules in order to find a fair solution. In such a case, you should communicate clearly and precisely with your opponent how you will proceed. If you create a support ticket to the administration, we cannot guarantee that we will intervene in time. If you cannot find a solution in such a case, you should, in consultation with your opponent, abandon the game and wait for further instructions from the administration.
